This song, at least for me, is hauntingly beautiful. I love ben howard, but this song and this performance specifically highlight his voice and his performance so well.
Watching this video reminds me why music is such a force. It’s a condition, an affliction; in the best possible way.

Some of my friends would find this song too mellow and maybe depressing, but I can’t help but smile when I listen to it. Because for me it speaks with a voice that is so clear and loud.

I don’t believe in using words lightly. We’ve become way to cavalier with our words and we’ve forgotten the impact that one word has when it’s meaning is true and pure. That being said the word I choose to describe this song, and this performance of the song in particular, is… beautiful.

All I am is the bones you made for me…

So garishly clean
White as the horses, they carry me away
No my demons, you said, come and go with a haze
Minds will too play
Grow old in my ways
Oh, just like you do.

Oh there ain’t no diamonds in the boredom
Oh there ain’t no darkness that I fear
Oh there ain’t no way to say I love you more, no
So be clear, just to be clear
So be clear, be clear.

All I am is the bones you made for me
Just driftwood for the sea
Heavy as the horses, that carry me away.
That carry me away.
